Circa 1769 this Austrian blunderbuss replica gun is handmade in Spain, it contains moving parts but doesn’t fire. It was designed precisely for close quarters combat and was fired from the hip. Although not as powerful as the British Blunderbuss, because of its flared end and slightly lager diameter barrel could be loaded quicker and took more lead shot and had a broader spray of shot. It was a formidable weapon favoured by predominately navel officers and coachmen. Hand crafted from solid elm wood with ornate pewter ornamentation’s it was a true gentleman’s weapon of choice.
