As a family we have for 17 years been involved in and supported El Shaddai, a British-founded charitable organisation in India who are highly regarded for literally saving the lives of 1000’s of street children, bringing love, hope, education and a future to the desperate and neglected ‘untouchables’ of India’s slums. This year the charity is attempting to secure a permanent place on the Global Giving platform, so that they can more effectively raise funds online from people all over the world. To be eligible to secure this permanent place, we must do all we can to help our friends spread the word of El Shaddai and help them raise the minimum $5000 they desperately need by Sept 30th on their Global Living page.
Locally known as child rescue, the El Shaddai Charitable Trust is a registered, non-profit Charity working in Goa and other States in India, providing 6 children’s homes for orphans, street children and children coming from economically desperate conditions; they provide the children with food, clothing, shelter and education, and help develop their personality for a better future. They also carry out awareness & educational programmes including medical camps among the slum dwellers.
